The GJR79 Toyota Land Cruiser is a part of the 70-series Land Cruiser model program. It was introduced in 1984 and because of its reliability and ruggedness, many models in the LC 70-series are still in production today. The 70-series of today is not the same as the models sold in the 1980s though. Engines, transmission and axles among other things have been updated through the years. In 2024 Toyota will celebrate the 40-year anniversary of the 70-series Land Cruiser.

Today you will no longer find new 70-series for sale in Japan, but they are still produced in Japan. In 2015 Japan introduced new legislation that requires skid control systems. New 70-series Land Cruisers are also not for sale in Europe, because the current engines do not adhere to European emissions standard requirements.

This brand new GJR79 comes with a 4-liter V6 petrol engine and a standard pickup body. The traditional ladder frame chassis makes the vehicle very robust and provides ample opportunities for modification and rebuilding. This particular GRJ79 comes with a factory mounted 3-ton winch.
